Thanks for this new technology , new style mulching lawnmowers operate a system which recycles the clippings as you mow.  Mulching lawnmowers chop the grass clippings into fine particles  and a single blade of grass can re-circulate more than ten times within the deck then push the particles right down into the ground and decompose thereby feeding the soil.

Thatch is a spongy layer of stems, root stolons and partially decomposed organic matter that has accumulated on the surface of the soil.  If left untreated thatch forms a layer preventing healthy grass growth with the lawn dependent on artificial additives to survive. Scientific studies have proved that mulching does not increase the growth of thatch.
